Marcos asked officials to report on Phl economic condition
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday asked his economic managers to report on the country’s current financial condition.,Marcos presided the first Cabinet meeting at the Aguinaldo State Room ahead of the 9 a.m. schedule.,He called on Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Felipe Medalla, and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan to provide the report.,“I think we can all understand that the most important area that we will have to deal with would have to be the economy,” Marcos told his Cabinet.,“The central policy that everybody else would eventually be following is set out by our economic managers,” he added.,Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte led the opening prayer during the meeting.,Other matters discussed in the meeting were “key items from the Agriculture, Finance, Transportation and Education sectors.”,Marcos was seating across Duterte, Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, National Security Adviser Clarita Carlos, and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III.,The Chief Executive was seated next to Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Presidential Management Staff head Zenaida Angping, Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo.
