MCU Mutant Reveal Supports 2 Huge X-Men In Captain Marvel 2 Theories

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Ms. Marvel episode 6!,Ms. Marvel‘s ending mutant reveal implies that two huge X-Men rumors could happen in The Marvels or in the near future. Currently, the X-Men are not a part of the core Marvel Cinematic Universe quite yet. Anyone who has powers has been called, most recently by the Department of Damage Control, “enhanced humans.” There also hasn’t been direct mention of mutants or mutant kind until the Ms. Marvel season 1 finale, where Bruno tests Kamala Khan and tells her that she has a mutation in her DNA. She brushes it off as nothing, and the season of the series comes to an end. This is the first time mutants have been mentioned in the MCU’s Earth-616. The Earth-838 universe, on the other hand, has mutants as part of the world, as was implied by Professor X’s appearance as part of the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.,These are the only two references to mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, and they’re both part of the MCU’s Phase 4. Since these events happened in the scope of the beginning of Phase 4, it is that much more likely that these are hints that mutants are on their way to the Marvel Universe. The inclusion of Ms. Marvel as a mutant would also change things for the Marvel Universe, as she would be the first Earth-616 mutant that the viewing audience is introduced to.,Related: Everything We Know About Ms Marvel Season 2,The two most often-rumored cast members for the upcoming team-up movie The Marvels (which will include Kamala Khan, Carol Danvers, and Monica Rambeau) are Rogue from X-Men and the Starjammers, who are basically the X-Men’s version of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rogue is a superpowered mutant with the unique ability to absorb and steal people’s powers, remove their memories, physical strength, and anyone’s superpowers. The Starjammers are a rag-tag team, similar to the Guardians of the Galaxy, who are space pirates, and who made a home for Captain Marvel after she left earth. Having them appear in the Captain Marvel sequel is much more plausible now that Kamala has been confirmed to be mutant, considering Iman Vellani is reprising her role for the Phase 4 movie.,The inclusion of Rogue in The Marvels would mean that she could be the story’s supervillain since her first appearance in the comics was as a bad guy. Including her as a member of the cast would, then, solidify that the X-Men are coming to the MCU, just not all at once. If they end up including Rogue in The Marvels, she would spell the beginning of the moviegoing audience getting to enjoy the X-Men in the MCU, and the potential downfall of Carol Danvers, since Rogue steals her powers and memories in the comics. There is constant bad blood between Rogue and Carol Danvers throughout the comics, and her appearance could also spell a great villain for the cast of The Marvels. Giving The Marvels a mutant villain would also be fitting for Kamala’s first major movie antagonist.,The Starjammers’ inclusion in the MCU would mean that they’re most likely going to follow the story where Carol Danvers loses everything, and retreats from earth to travel with the Starjammers. The Starjammers could spell the end of Captain Marvel as people know her, but also a place where Carol Danvers can find solace, much like Thor did with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Her exploits with the Starjammers could also spell an explanation for where Carol Danvers was during the post-blip five years. If they make the Starjammers anywhere near as lovable as the Guardians of the Galaxy, they will be a strong and welcome team to join the MCU. These two mutant entities joining The Marvels would spell a bright future for the MCU, and would show people how mutantkind will be introduced to the moviegoing audience.,Want more Ms. Marvel articles?
